Payasam is an inevitable ingredient for any festival like Vishu, Onam or other personal celebrations like Birthday and so on. Here in this video, Lekshmi Nair demonstrates a very special Chakka Payasam (jackfruit stew or Jackfruit payasam), which is very easy to make.
The recipe and ingredients of the Chakka Payasam are given below.
Ingredients:-
- Jackfruit pieces or jackfruit pulp: 50 nos
- Jaggery: 500 gm (1/2 kg)
- Coconut milk (1st extract): 1 1/2 cups
- Coconut milk (2nd extract): 2 cups
- Coconut milk (3rd extract): 2 cups
- Ghee: 2 tbs
- Cardamon powder: 1 tsp
- Dry ginger powder: 1/2 tsp
For Garnish:-
- Ghee: 2 tbs
- Cashew nuts: 50 gm
- Kismis (raisins): 50 gm
